rain, a sunset, lightning, and a rainbow

After moving farther into Armstrong Canyon and making camp, we were treated to an amazing display in the sky by Mother Nature. Our evening meal, Gado Gado Pasta (recipe to follow), occurred under ominous clouds that only lightly sprinkled rain on us. The sparse raindrops were complimented by a beautiful rainbow that seemed close enough that we might be able to climb after it.

Our group made its way up about 50 ft. to watch rain fall in the distance against the background of a beautiful sunset of pinks and oranges that was interlaced with lightning. We sat awestruck for quite awhile at Mother Nature's evening show and I again felt blessed to be here witnessing it with these people.
