type two fun...defined

We awoke the morning of November 1 to 18 degree windy weather. It was not pleasant at all. My fingers and toes were so cold that the pain was nearly numbing. At one point before we left, two of the women (SB and SBB) each took one of my hands and put them on their respective stomachs. Though a very odd feeling and an odd image (if only I'd had a picture!), my hands were much warmer very quickly.

We had stopped the previous night at 5 p.m. to search for water and believed we had stopped about a mile short of our "X." So off we set eastward in search of the "X." after walking for about an hour and feeling as if something was not quite right, out came the GPS again...and, lo and behold, we were about a mile west of one "X"--so we in fact had made it to the "X" the night before. Surprise, surprise!! Our two hour "bonus" hike was a bit of type 2 fun-and a good warm-up for the day.

The rest of our hike for the day involved several confirmations of our location with the GPS device...just to make sure!
